What is ngGirls?

As conference organizers, it is part of our mission to help bridge the gap between underrepresented groups in our network and the leading innovators in the Belgian Angular landscape.

25 women* will get the opportunity to attend a free Angular workshop during the NG-BE 2024 Conference.

Every selected attendee will receive:

  • A free Angular workshop conducted by the ngGirls team

  • Free foods and drinks throughout the day

  • The ability to socialize with developers and experts from the Angular community

  • A unique opportunity to connect with the leading innovators in the Belgian Angular market

*ngGirls is a trans and non-binary inclusive workshop. Mentor volunteering is open to all genders.

Shmuela Jacobs

Shmuela Jacobs is a proud ngMom of two ngBoys, happily married to ReactDad. Shmuela combines her love for coding useful apps, teaching and helping Web developers as a consultant and trainer. She's the founder of ngGirls, and a GDE in Angular and Web Technologies, ex Cloud Advocate at Microsoft, holding M.Sc. in Information Management Engineering and B.Sc. in Physics.

Robert Willemelis

Robert works as a Frontend-Developer for a big hosting service provider in Berlin. He is a core team member of ngGirls and passionate about Angular and about the software craftsmanship pattern. He likes to make people happy by being creative, producing new ideas, and bringing people together. Robert loves to travel around and attend conferences to get new inspiration for his daily work and for self-improvement.

Are you a woman interested in learning how to build web applications with the latest technologies? We have good news for you: We are holding a one-day workshops for beginners!

We believe that the IT industry will greatly benefit from bringing more women into technology. We want to give you an opportunity to learn how to program and become a developer.

During the workshop you will build and deploy your very first Angular Web Application! Angular is an open-source platform for building web application, developed by Google and the community. It provides various tools to easily create a dynamic, interactive app that can run on desktop browsers, mobile and even robots.

The workshop is free of charge. Just fill out the application form. Don't wait too long - you can apply for a pass only until the stated deadline.

For the workshop you'll need some basic knowledge in web development: HTML, CSS and basic JavaScript or any other programming language. If you're a total beginner, that's ok! We'll send you some resources to catch up, and give you special attention during the workshop.
